If you want to use this testing instrument, then you need to start by preparing your testing specimen. Cut a rectangular piece of the specimen from the sample you want to test. The specimen must be cut according to the dimension of the template given for the Edge Crush Test provided with the machine. . Now loosen the Allen bolts of the edge crush fixture provided with the machine with the help of an M-5 Allen key and insert the specimen between the fixtures and adjust the fixture gap according to the thickness of the sample. The specimen for the Edge crush test is ready.

You can also prepare the specimen for the ring crush test as well. For this, you can cut a specimen from the sample using the ring crush test template. Now take the Ring Crush Test Fixture and place the spacer provided with the fixture according to the thickness of the specimen. After the placement of the spacer, slowly insert the cut specimen into the cavity given on the fixture. After the placement of the spacer, slowly insert the cut specimen into the cavity given on the fixture.

For the flat crush test, the specimen will be prepared by cutting it from the test sample board using the template provided with the machine for the Flat Crush Test. Now place the specimen between the Flat Crush Test fixtures provided with the machine.

Once you accurately prepare the specimen for taking all three tests, you can start operating the machine. This testing machine contains lower and upper compression plates that will help to exert the compressive force on the specimen. After a certain increase in the load value, the value of load will be displayed. In order to take 10 different tests in a single graph, you can click on the hold key after every test.

The edge crush test is one of the most important tests, that will be conducted in the paper and packaging industry to make sure you are delivering high-quality products to your customers. If you are searching for a reliable testing machine for conducting edge-wise compression tests then we suggest you go with Presto edge crush/RCT/ECT/FCT-digital cum computerized model. This is one of the amazing testing instruments that are widely used in the packaging industry to ensure safe packaging. This testing instrument is best for providing accurate analysis of the crushing strength of the packaging materials and ensures stronger and better quality packaging containers. The instrument is provided with a digital readout that helps inaccurate reading of the test results. It can also store the peak value of the previous tests that have been performed on the instrument.

The edge crush strength is a major way of determining the strength of a corrugated box or any other material that is used for making packaging boxes. The edge crush tester is one of the most reliable ways of determining the edge crush strength of the packaging materials. The Presto’s Edge crush tester is used for performing three different tests that are edge crush test, ring crush test, and flat crush test to determine the actual and accurate strength of the packaging materials. The main purpose of using this amazing testing instrument is to ensure your package will be delivered without any damage. Secondary packaging is responsible for keeping the contents packed safe during transit, handling, and storage. A crush test is very important to assess the properties of the raw material. With one machine, different properties of the CFB can be assessed, ring crush test, edge crush test, and flat crush test. All tests are basically being performed on the corrugators of the board. A CFB has corrugators packed between two linear boards. The height and density of corrugators determine the different properties.

If you want to perform the flat crush test, the sample is placed flat while ridges and furrows face up. A top load is applied to the sample until deformity occurs. In the ring crush test, a horizontal strip of sample is prepared and its edges are joined to form a ring. This ring is placed on the platform and a top-load is applied until deformity occurs. In the edge crush test, a top-load is applied to the sample while the corrugators standing tall. All these tests are performed with one machine by just changing the fixture of the machine.

With the help of this test, you can improve your box quality and assures that your products will be accepted worldwide without any damage. If you want to successfully incorporate the box into an application then, you need to conduct the test accurately. This testing instrument by Presto will easily help you to determine the properties of the box that will eventually make you realize whether the box is compatible with the delivery or not.
