It is true that we all want to know if our packages are safe enough for us to handle without fear of an explosion or not. Bursting strength tests are important because it can help you determine the quality of different types of paper packaging materials. It is also very helpful in determining whether or not your package will be able to withstand rough handling and unexpected impacts without breaking open. This testing instrument has been equipped with several features mentioned below:

  • Single push-button operation.
  • The equipment has a digital readout with least count of 0.1 kg/cm2
  • The instrument is provided with a storage memory with a capacity of storing 9 Peak values.
  • There is a motor driven mechanism in the machine that is used to increase fluid.
  • Displacement on the lower side of the diaphragm at a specific rate.
  • Digital indication of readings.
  • This equipment is completely microprocessor based with original ‘Intel’ chip.
  • TARE facility incorporated.
  • Peak Hold facility for keeping the maximum value in the memory.
  • Microprocessor based display for accurate test results

MODEL:- PBP - 600 (C)

You may not know this, but corrugated box packages often burst open when they are dropped or thrown. The force of the impact can cause the package to tear and release its contents onto the floor. If you suspect that your packaging material is of high quality or not, then we recommend you to take bursting strength test. If you are the owner of a packaging company, it is your responsibility to make sure that your packages can withstand any kind of external forces. Bursting strength is the resistance of material against bursting force that will completely rupture the package to determine its quality. This test, can be done with the help of Digital cum computerized model of Bursting strength tester.

This type of bursting strength testing model makes the use of multi-directional force which is also defined as hydrostatic pressure that is required to produce rupture of the material when pressure is applied to it at an increased rate through a rubber diaphragm. The Bursting Strength Tester is designed to find bursting strength of Paper/Paperboard. A Test specimen is held between two annular clamps under sufficient pressure to minimize slippage. The Upper Clamping surface has a continuous spiral groove, and the Lower Clamping surface has a number of concentric grooves. A Circular Diaphragm of pure gum rubber is clamped between the lower clamping plate and a pressure cylinder so that before the diaphragm is stretched by pressure underneath it, the center of its upper surface is below the plane of the clamping surface.

The equipment is provided with a cam mechanism that is motor driven which is used for increasing the fluid displacement on the lower side of the rubber diaphragm at a specified rate. There is a mechanism provided with the equipment that automatically lowers the pressure down and stops the motor automatically when the test cycle is completed. It has a rugged design to provide trouble free performance for a long time. It comes with the capacity of 40 kg/cm2 with the least count of 0.1 kg/cm2. You can easily start the test by plugging the machine in 3 pin -5 amp power supply socket. To set the pressure till zero, you can press TARE button and then Reset button so that the Load Indicator will show zero reading. To get better test results you can prepare the sample with 100mm X 100 mm dimensions. While preparing the specimen, make sure that there are no folds/bends in the specimen.

Once you place the specimen between the clamps then move the upper clamp upwards by rotating the operating wheel in the anticlockwise direction. Place the test specimen so that it completely covers the Lower clamp. After that, you can rotate the operating wheel in clockwise direction to bring the upper clamp down to hold the test specimen. Tighten the operating wheel to make sure that the test specimen is firmly held and there will be no slippage. After that, commence the test by placing it correctly between the clamps. To verify the accuracy of the machine, use the master calibration foil provided with the machine. With the help of this testing instrument, you will easily test the bursting strength of corrugated box and the results shown in the digital readout with least count of 0.1 kg/cm2.
