The Digital Pneumatic Bursting Strength Tester – Burst Genie 4.0 is an advanced testing instrument designed to determine the strength and performance of materials like paper, boards, fiber sheets, foils, leather, and packaging materials. The principle is simple yet highly effective: the specimen is clamped pneumatically under uniform pressure, and a rubber diaphragm applies fluid pressure until the sample ruptures. The maximum force required to burst the material is displayed as its bursting strength.
Equipped with pneumatic clamping, a 5-inch LCD display, and automatic peak detection, the Burst Genie 4.0 ensures accurate, consistent, and repeatable results. It offers dual operating modes (Paper & Board), enabling versatile applications across industries. With built-in calibration, pass/fail criteria, and auto calculation of bursting factor and average values, the tester eliminates manual errors and simplifies the decision-making process.
Conforming to international standards like ASTM D3786-01, ASTM D3786-80A, IS 1060 Part-1 1987, ASTM D774, ISO 2758, and ISO 2759, this instrument ensures globally recognized testing accuracy. Its robust construction, grooved specimen holder to prevent slippage, and enhanced safety features like dual-hand clamping make it an ideal choice for both laboratories and industrial production units.

Are you looking for the perfect testing instrument to determine the bursting strength of materials? If yes, then we suggest you go with Presto bursting strength tester-digital. It is the perfect device for anyone who wants to find the bursting strength of Paper/Paperboard. It’s packed with features that make everyday life easier and more productive. It’s the perfect device for manufacturers in the packaging industry, to easily determine the bursting strength of corrugated boxes, cardboard boxes, and other related products. It consists of an electric motor with a speed regulator and gearbox fitted on a heavy cast iron base stand having leveling screws at its four corners.
The test specimens are mounted in jaws which are adjustable vertically by means of screw spindle provided with micrometer head for setting up desired value on scale plate attached. The digital model of this testing instrument has been equipped with various advanced features that make it easy to use. Bursting strength tester is the most widely used machine in industries where raw materials like paper, cardboard, cloth, rexine, leather, foil, etc. are used. It works on the very simple principle of applying pressure on the specimen until it ruptures. This pressure is not applied directly to the sample. Instead, it will be applied through a rubber diaphragm. When you easily calculate the bursting strength of materials, then you will be able to improve the quality of your material, by determining its bursting properties. This testing machine has been made up of high-quality parts and has very low maintenance. It comes with some low-cost consumables like diaphragm and glycerin which can be replaced without any hassle in case of wear and tear. The life of the diaphragm depends on the number of tests performed. To perform the test, the sample is clamped in the annular clamp. It is always advised to clamp the sample with nominal pressure. If the clamped sample is loose, it will tend to slip after the application of pressure. If it is too tight, more than required pressure needs to be applied. Thus, you should use nominal pressure to easily apply the pressure. The machine is very simple to operate and it comes with a calibration certificate as well. With its bright digital display, you will be able to view the testing results accurately.
The main purpose of the Presto bursting strength tester is that it provides you with accurate information about the bursting strength of materials. If you test this property of material, then there will fewer chances of box failure during the storage of products. The equipment is provided with a cam mechanism that is motor-driven which is used for increasing the fluid displacement on the lower side of the rubber diaphragm at a specified rate. There is a mechanism provided with the equipment that automatically lowers the pressure down and stops the motor automatically when the test cycle is completed. It has a rugged design to provide trouble-free performance for a long time.
