Packaged products are taken from one place to another through many channels to finally reach their destination. The products are subjected to various hazards such as vibration, shock and compression. Shock and compression hazards can be ignored at the time of designing of packaging materials. The nature and intensity of vibration faced by packaging materials is the main concern, especially for beverage delivery truck vibration. Vibration level study is important as it can reduce damages that occur during transit of products especially fruits, food and beverages and other fragile materials. Analysis of vibration level can help the package designers to minimise the damages at the time of transit. Vibration levels increases due to the speed of the vehicle and the condition of roads.
With the increasing stack height, the amplitude of vibration i.e. 5-25 Hz increases in plastic crates and corrugated boxes. Corrugated boxes can absorb vibrations greater than 25Hz. Therefore corrugated boxes are preferred more over plastic crates in relation to vibrations and shocks. Package integrity and product protection are important functions of packaging. Vibration table is used to perform tests to measure the resistance of various products and packages to control shock and impact.
The right packaging solution should be made by the companies as it can enhance the business. Selection of wrong packaging solution can damage the products and make the customers unhappy and bring loss to the business. To analyse the hazards caused at the time of transport, various testing machines are introduced in the market.
Assuming the Vibration level is a cost- effective method to understand the damage incurred at the time of jerks and movement of vehicles. Testing the samples with the help of Vibration table can let the packing manufacturers assume the amount of damage in the products in just a few hours.
Vibration Table is a testing machine that helps the manufacturers to check the vibration resistance of packages. The machine provides continuous vibration at an amplitude of 25 mm with frequency strokes of 120 per minute. The repetitive movements of the objects are reproduced by the instrument. Provision to fix time and frequency to test the damage at the completion of the test. It can take a maximum load capacity of 100kg with a table size of 800 * 800 mm. Frequency is 2Hz to 6 HZ and various testing models are vertical asynchronous, vertical synchronous, swivel synchronous and swivel asynchronous. It provides various angles in the swivel model i.e. 0°, 30°, 60° and 90°. The timer can be set up to 99.9 min to 99.9 hours which is sufficient enough to determine the damage.
