This amazing testing equipment will minimize human interference with its motorized working mechanism. To conduct the test efficiently, you can easily take a piece of sample to test. The size of the specimen will be 130 x 69 x 1mm. Move the Resting lever down, so that the oscillating arm is held upward. Place the sample of the painted metal sheet over the rubbing platform and clamp it firmly.

To easily commence the test, you can check the needle endpoint that should be fitted with a 90-degree angle. Now you can move the resting lever up, the oscillating arm comes on the test specimen. Load needle arm with weights to determine the threshold of failure. As specified for go/no go tests or progressively increasing load until failure occurs. Now press motor Switch ON and the oscillating arm will start the oscillations. If a failure occurs, the needle will touch with the base plate a green light will illuminate and buzzer on. Remove panel for visual assessment of scratch.

Presto’s Scratch Hardness Tester is a suitable apparatus for carrying out the tests relating to resistance to scratch under a specified load. Tests are conducted either on a go/no go basic by testing at a single specified load on the needle or by increasing loads to determine the minimum load at which the coating is penetrated. Scratch Hardness Tester is used to test paints, varnishes, lacquers & similar products. This instrument is most suitable for small laboratories and industries where repetitive quality control tests are carried out.

Presto offers a motorized model of scratch resistance tester to minimize human interference. In this machine, there is a motorized assembly to move the needle to and from, a specified weight is applied on the needle as per the industrial standards. This test determines the scratch resistance and wear and tear of the sample. This machine is widely used in laboratories, quality management departments of the manufacturing units.

This machine, which operates from a 220V 5OHZ AC supply, is encased with a cover enclosing the gears and other parts for operating the slide at a constant speed and the arm lifting mechanism. The needle arm is counterpoised and rigid to prevent whip or chatter at the needlepoint. A 1 mm needle-ended needle (normally supplied with each instrument) is held in a chuck at 90o to the test panel and can be easily removed for inspection and replacement. Weights providing increments of 200gm, 300 gm, 500gm, 1kg. Mass is loaded above the ended needle. Additional weights up to a maximum of 10kg loading are available as optional accessories for harder coatings.

This testing instrument has been made with the latest design with modern aesthetics and electronic control. It is very easy to use and contains Polycarbonate Specimen Clamp for Paint & plating Testing. You can efficiently make use of this fully automatically operated electronic device.
